Student-Athletes Complete MOC Leadership Program
Twenty-one Mount Olive College student-athletes graduated from the MOC Leadership Program, a four-session program to help student-athletes develop skills to be successful leaders on and off the field of competition. The graduates were presented their certificates after the conclusion of their final session earlier this week.
The MOC Leadership Program began with two sessions in November, the first on leadership skills and values, the second on team building and communication. A session in January covered emotional intelligence and the final session was a group discussion on team scenarios.
Participants were chosen by their coaches, as individuals who are expected to have a leadership role within their team.
"We received positive feedback from the student-athletes who participated in this program," said assistant athletics director LaToya Lindsey. "They were open to the ideas that were presented to them on how to become better leaders and they fully participated in each session."
