Reid Clewis, who spent five years as assistant women's soccer coach at Mount Olive College, returned to Mount Olive in March 2012 to resume assistant coaching duties.
Mount Olive compiled a late-season five-match conference winning streak in 2012 to finish with a 6-5-0 conference mark and a berth in the Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Tournament for the ninth consecutive year. Including the conference tournament, the Trojans held eight of their final nine opponents to one goal or less in regulation.
Clewis originally became the Trojans' assistant women's soccer coach in 2006, one year after completing his collegiate playing career at Mount Olive. A two-time All-Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference selection, Clewis scored the winning goal in the championship match of the 2004 CVAC Men's Soccer Tournament for the Trojans' first-ever men's soccer conference championship.
After the 2010 women's soccer season, Clewis moved to his hometown of Wilmington, N.C., where he was Assistant Director of Player Development for Cape Fear Soccer Club. During his first stint at Mount Olive, he also spent two years at Fayetteville Soccer Club, serving as a staff coach and technical director of camps.
In addition to his coaching duties at Mount Olive, Clewis serves as Director of Coaching at Wayne County United Soccer Club in Goldsboro, N.C.
Clewis earned a B.S. degree in sports management at Mount Olive. He holds a USSF D License, NSCAA National and Advanced National Diplomas, and NSCAA Level I GK Diploma.
Clewis is engaged to Amber Jacobs. The couple's son Landon was born in December 2011. Clewis will also become stepdad to 12-year-old Kaley and 9-year-old Megan.
